Our new UK location – Baileys Barn

We’re delighted to announce that we have now officially moved into our new premises in Warwickshire.

Located just off the M42 motorway, our spacious new office is in a prime position for the team to easily commute to and of course for us to welcome clients for meetings and workshops.

We’ve already welcomed colleagues from overseas for a tour of our new premises, and our facility and location were both given the ‘green’ light from Francoise…. He even enjoyed our desk top accessories (which of course have been specially selected by our Finance Manager Jayne – in nothing less than our corporate colours!)

Please get in touch if you’d like to visit us at our new location.

UOC exhibit at BASK 2019

We’re excited to announce that we will be exhibiting at the British Association for surgery of the knee event (BASK) on the 26th and 27th March.

The event is taking place at the Brighton Hilton Metropole Hotel and will be hosted by BASK President, Mr Andrew Price. The event boasts a busy line up of seminars and speakers and is a must for all industry professionals.

The Association was set up in the early 1980’s to represent the knee surgeons within Britain. Since then it has grown to become one of the largest surgical sub-specialist organisations, which brings together knee surgeons with the single aim of improving their patient’s care.

The BASK event is set to take place at the impressive Hilton Metropole

Malcolm Pearson, Commercial Director said “This will be our first event for United Orthopedics Corporation in the UK, and we can’t wait to attend and network with our clients. If you’re coming to the event please pop along to our stand and say hello!”

Save the date for our 3rd European Conference

Don’t forget that we will be hosting out 3rd European Conference between the 26th and 28th September at the River Lee hotel in Cork, Ireland. The event will showcase talks around technological advances in the industry and feature presentations by leading speakers, so it’s not to be missed.

Cork City is Ireland’s Second largest city, with Dublin the capital being the largest. Cork is famous for many things, including being home to the first factory that Ford Motor Company built outside of America, which is where Henry Ford’s ancestors came from. Another famous landmark is Blarney Castle. Popular myth denotes that kissing the Blarney Stone at the top of the Castle will bestow the kisser with the “gift of gab” (great eloquence, or skills of flattery).

Cork has always been an important seaport. It began on an island in the swampy estuary of the River Lee (the name Corcaigh means a marsh), and gradually climbed up the steep banks on either side.

If you would like to come along to attend the conference along with taking in an experience visiting the historic city of Cork, please get in touch with the UOC team.

United Orthopedic Corporation Wins Bronze at 21st Annual Medical Design Excellence Awards

U2 Knee AiO™ Block and MDT™ Recognised as Significant Achievements Among Implant and Tissue-Replacement Products

California, June 12, 2019 – United Orthopedic Corporation (UNITED), a leading international designer, manufacturer and distributor of innovative orthopedic implants and instruments, today announced that its U2 Knee AiO™ Block and Modular Disposable TrialTM (MDT) have earned UNITED a Bronze award in the 21st Annual Medical Design Excellence Awards (MDEA). The U2 Knee AiO Block and MDT were recognised as significant achievements in the “Implant and Tissue-Replacement Product” category.

“On behalf of the design and engineering team, we are honored to have had our U2 Knee AiO Block and MDT selected by the MDEA for this prestigious award,” said Jason Lin, Chairman and CEO of United Orthopedic Corporation. “As innovators striving to create a more efficient and precise environment within operating rooms across the orthopedic space, we take great pride in being recognised for our work and in continuing to improve the total knee replacement experience for surgeons and patients alike.”

The U2 Knee AiO Block and MDT are used to assist orthopedic surgeons in increasing precision and efficiency for total knee arthroplasty (TKA) operations. The AiO Block is user-friendly instrument which integrates the femoral sizer with the A/P resection guide and enables surgeons to properly position the U2 Knee femoral components anteriorly and posteriorly. It can decrease the possibility of anterior cortex notching and help to prevent mal-rotation. The MDT allows for modular convenience with its intra-operative flexibility of converting from a cruciate retaining trial to a posterior stabilising version during the surgery. Because of its single-use design it can improve patient safety by potentially reducing the risk of infection. The combination of U2 Knee AiO Block and MDT allows for the removal of 163 instruments from the sterile field and reduces the total surgical tray count from 6 to 1.5 trays. This reduction has great potential to generate significant cost savings.

The MDEA program honors innovative advances in medical product design and engineering. The awards recognise winners based on excellence based upon the following criteria: benefits to overall healthcare, design and engineering innovation, functional innovation, benefit to patients, and market differentiation within the competitive landscape.
